Article: MyCreed Netherlands at Firstlook 2016

Every year there is a large and quite famous game festival in the Jaarbeurs in Utrecht. Today was the 9th edition of the Firstlook Festival and the 15th anniversary of the game journalist website: GameKings. For three days gamers from all places in Europe, came to the Netherlands to show their brand new cosplay outfits, try out brand new games, buy merchandise or to simply be there. This all happened 7, 8 and 9th of October and like last year, Mandy from MyCreed Nederland (The Netherlands) was there too!

Market Place

Fans from any game can find their place at the festival, as there are hundreds of booths full of merchandise like Shirts, Posters, Figurines, Outfits, Cosplay, keychains and loads more. In contrary to last year, the focus of the festival was way more focussed upon merchandise instead of the games themselves.

Between all the visitors of the festival, there were some cosplayers, but unlike last year, they weren’t really present. There were some Assassin cosplayers, but as there is no Assassin’s Creed game coming this year, they felt quite lost. While the festival itself was lots of fun, there wasn’t a lot of relevant new news of the game releases of this year. Yeah, we missed Rick Boer, one of the most famous Assassin’s Creed cosplayers, so the conclusion can be made: where are the Assassin’s when you need them?

GameKings’ 15th anniversary?

The Firstlook Festival was “larger than ever” due to the fifteenth anniversary of GameKings. Well, it should have been, but the party was only at Fridaynight. The rest of the days the GameKings weren’t even mentioned. Sadly we missed the party…
